Delhi violence: Death toll reached 20, more than 200 injured

New Delhi: The number of deaths in violence in northeastern Delhi is increasing continuously. At the same time, more than 200 people are said to be injured. On Wednesday morning, four more people were reported dead, after which the death toll has risen to 20.

In fact, on Tuesday, fresh violence erupted in northeastern Delhi on the last day, in which fierce stone-pelting, arson and firing were fired.

An official of Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital has said that four more people injured in the violence have died. Now the death toll has reached 18.

On the previous day, violence spread in many areas including Chandbagh and Bhajanpura in the northeastern area of ​​the national capital. During this time, stones were thrown, shops were set on fire. The rioters damaged two fire engines in Gokalpuri.

The crowd was shouting provocative slogans and set fire to fruit trains, rickshaws and other things coming in their way at Maujpur and other places.

The police had released tear gas shells to disperse the rioters. These rioters also carried weapons, stones, rods and swords in their hands. Many were wearing helmets.

The paramilitary personnel were cooperating with the police. Vehicles on the roads were damaged, brick and burnt tires testifying to the violence on Monday in which around 200 people, including 48 policemen, were injured.

Police officials said that the situation was under control and flag marches were carried out at Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas and other places. The areas are heavily guarded. Curfew is applicable in Maujpur, Jafrabad, Karaval Nagar, Chandbagh.

Troubles have been ordered to shoot. Also Section 144 is applicable in many other areas.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Police Chief Amulya Patnaik and others regarding the situation.

It was decided in the meeting that activists of political parties should join hands for peace restoration and peace committees should be reactivated in all areas.
