Body of man killed by wild animal found in Kheri forests

Lakhimpur-Kheri: A wild animal mauled a man in Punarbhu Grant village under Gola range of south Kheri forests division, the police said on Saturday. The mutilated body of the man was found in a sugarcane field. On getting information, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot and urged the villagers to remain alert, as wild animals stray into human settlements in the rainy season. The man is yet to be identified, the officials said.

The place, where the body was found, is near Ambara forests on the Gola-Aliganj road. Divisional forest officer Sanjay Biswal said that he had received reports about the killing of a man by a big cat and that the officials began an investigation into the case.
