Two die, three suffer injuries, as car falls into ditch in UP...

Lakhimpur Kheri: Two persons died and three sustained serious injuries when a car carrying them fell into a 30-foot-deep water-filled ditch on the Delhi-Lucknow national highway late Friday night, the police said on Saturday. The driver of the car lost control and fell into the gorge that lies beneath the Mirganj overbridge.  Five friends, hailing from Mahammadi village in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, were going to Delhi. All the passengers were trapped inside the car.

One of the five friends came out of the vehicle after two hours of the accident and informed the police about the incident. By the time the police brought the passengers out of the car, two of them 40-year-old Salim and 28-year-old Aamir had died. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Bareilly.
