Coronavirus disease hasn’t gone yet. Not just in India, but all over the world, the cases of people suffering from coronavirus disease and other infections are still there. India is recovering itself right now from the second wave of the pandemic and reports are announcing that a third wave is likely to hit the country by October and even health experts are believing that almost a year more for the pandemic to continue.
So, listening to chachas, chachis, mamas and mamis who are all at home only and giving you news of deaths of their old relatives or known people or making you afraid of how expensive the healthcare cost is, if you decide to travel out of your house and take that vacation and unfortunately get the virus, you REALLY NEED A BREAK. No, they are not wrong – in fact, they are really giving you the actual picture of what is happening around them but sadly the news updates on your WhatsApp or Facebook feed is rising the anxiety levels in you making you feel wanting to run away from this miserable life and lead a isolated life.
Now that’s the reason you need to move on from this picture of life and actually try to take a small vacation from your regular schedule. Put off your Whatsapp and social media for a while. It can be a 10-day break but it would be worth it. You can ask a friend or relative of yours who stays nearby and ask if their family would be okay if you stay at their house for 5 to 7 days as you are really “looking for a change” from your current surroundings.
You can tell them that all you would need is a space to sit and stay so that you can introspect about your life from the entire coronavirus stuff that your family or relatives keep talking about and sharing. You want to explore a new way of living and thus, this is the short mini-vacation from your home to another home. Once someone agrees and gives you the shelter, you can continue following the COVID-19 protocols and behavior but just switch off the news, daily updates and try getting to know yourself better with meditation, yoga, reading books, or doing any of your hobbies for a longer time of the day. You will definitely notice the change within you and that is what will help you to adjust the change outside you.
