The other day I was traveling after taking my second dose of COVISHIELD that my friend called up and told me if we can meet up in a shopping mall in Kurla in Mumbai. I was first taken aback as it was almost six months that I have been quarantining myself at home to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease. It made me tell her to wait for a few more months as I am not mentally prepared to roam around to different places after taking the vaccine against the coronavirus disease.

She laughed at my innocence and naiveness and told me that things have opened up far better now and we can catch up in a mall and spend some quality time to know what is going on in our lives. I shared my thoughts with my mother and she told me to go to a place where my mind is rather meeting my friend in a mall just because she is calling me. I texted her by saying that I am interested to meet on a beach rather than a mall because shopping malls for me are just places where we shop, eat junk food, and spend our time in a closed area where just a lot of people would have come.

She agreed and we met on a local beach with just seawater here and there and we both sat on a stone and talked about our lives. I shared how stressed out I had become in the last year due to the COVID-19 risk. She shared how she lost her job and relatives in this pandemic but she has not taken it to her heart. She always looked at the brighter side of life and wanted to do something good while she is alive, is what she shared. Her positive outlook and the natural surroundings really were a wise message for me to relive my life and get back on track again.
