The state of Maharashtra has again extended the lockdown-like restrictions till 15 June 2021 in the wake of the ongoing second wave of coronavirus pandemic. And this time, an e-pass which means an electronically generated travel pass has been made compulsory for any person who wants to go on road travel outside his current district.

It has also been reported that not everyone is allowed to get an e-pass and only those people who have a genuine and valid reason are eligible and free to travel within the state after they avail of the e-pass.

People who are working in the state government sector and central government sector are allowed to travel for official reasons and also those working for essential and emergency reasons need not have to apply for the e-pass. As per the recent rules, only people who want to travel outside their current district due to medical emergencies, personal emergencies or marriage work, etc. are allowed to apply for the e-pass.

A simple rule to apply for the travel e-pass, one can visit covid19.mhpolice.in as from this website, your application will get moved to your local police jurisdiction for processing the pass.

Also, one needs to have valid proof of identity and valid reason for traveling proof like a marriage card, medical report, or any other emergency document required.

It is unclear how much time it will take to process for you to get the travel e-pass but likely one can expect the approval within one or two days before the travel date.

It is essential that you wear a double mask, and never let your guard down once you are out traveling from one place to another. Keep applying sanitizer on your hands at regular intervals and avoid interacting with people who try to come very closer to you, just maintain social distancing wherever you go.
