Pilgrims living in Saudi Arabia will now be able to undertake the umrah pilgrimage from 4 October 2020.
This is after there was a seven-month halt owing to the deadly coronavirus restrictions.
For the unaware, Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina that is undertaken at any time of the year.
Last year, over 19 million people had been a part of the pilgrimage.
Since March, the pilgrimage was stopped but now the officials plan to allow 6,000 citizens and residents inside the kingdom to perform umrah every day.
From 1 November, Saudi Arabia plans to allow people from particular countries that are declared safe to be a part of umrah.
The arrangement will happen till the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
As of now, Saudi Arabia has 330,798 total cases of coronavirus and 4,542 deaths.
