Nations eagerly willing to regain its hold on the Tourism sector

Countries are opening up for tourism amid the coronavirus pandemic times. The World Travel and Tourism Council has estimated the sector is undergoing a huge loss since last year with 62 million job cuts and $126 billion in the air travel sector alone and this year another $48 billion is reported to be lost. However, as many countries are speeding up their vaccination drives, we can see the tourism sector getting new hope in these challenging times.

1) Europe:

Europe includes Greece, Spain, and Turkey are allowing visitors who are fully vaccinated or are from countries that are considered to be safe. Last week, Spain said that it will allow British and Japanese visitors to enter the country if they are vaccinated and people from other countries on 7 June. Travelers are also starting to go to Greece after officials accept vaccination and test reports from the EU and 21 other countries.

2) Asia:

In various parts of Asia, the virus cases are increasing only and even Hong Kong and Singapore have postponed their quarantine-free travel bubble after a new outbreak of the disease. Some countries like Thailand and Bangkok had reopened for a while but have again closed their borders to manage the outbreak and curb the spread of the virus. We can see soon some of the countries reopening to welcome the visitors once the vaccination campaign and decline in cases have been achieved.

Other countries that are willing to reopen at the earliest for tourism include Canada, the US, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, however, they have limited the flights and even banned people from the countries with the largest number of coronavirus cases to keep its people safe. But we can see the trend in reopening post-June 2021, fingers crossed!
