Yes, the majority of us are at home only due to the lockdown started since the coronavirus pandemic hit the country. I do have friends who encourage me to pack my bags and travel with them on a holiday to a hilly area or a nearby destination. But to be very honest, I have lost all those feelings of exploration and adventure after seeing my loved ones dying in the first and second waves of the coronavirus pandemic.

I have lost interest in many of the activities that I used to enjoy doing in the pre-coronavirus times. Before the pandemic started, I was working in a media company wherein I had to travel for almost 60 kilometers on a daily basis to and fro and use the transportation modes of the train, taxi, bus, rickshaw and spend almost 5 hours traveling. So, although my job was for 9 hours the additional 5 hours of travel made me hate my job to the core.

Even when my relatives called me to their places within the city during weekends, I used to feel exhausted to even step out of my home. I am that way a boring and ordinary person who enjoys her own company and likes to stay away from the crowd. But I had a travel enthusiast inside me that used to come out during festivals and important days like birthdays, marriage anniversaries, etc. I believed in partying a lot these days by visiting different places and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings and nature.
But let me tell you frankly that after being at home for more than a year and reading all the negative news, I have just given up on traveling for a brief period. I live in the doubt of contracting the coronavirus disease and getting exposed to the virus that may increase my hospitalization and healthcare bills, which at this juncture of my life, I cannot afford. I really feel I will follow the stay-at-home and stay-safe mandate for a year more. What about you? Do you have the travel freak alive inside you?
