How not to let anxiety encourage you to travel in pandemic

Anxiety is quite natural in today’s coronavirus times. Even in the modern age when the coronavirus was not there at all, anxiety was a common mental health disorder among many young and middle-aged adults due to the growing competition and rapid changes that were occurring in society.

Now as the governments are mandating it to stay at home and not venture outside unless it is an emergency, growing anxiety is quite common in both children and adults alike. Like you may find many children still arguing with the parents about their need to meet their friends outside, but being responsible parents and to save the lives of the children, parents would be strictly barring their children from even stepping out of their homes.

There would be many young and middle-aged adults too who would be finding it really frustrating to stay at home for so long periods of time and would be finding it as a huge task to convince their minds to not go out as the coronavirus situation is worsening day by day. So, whether you are a child or an adult who is going through a lot of emotional turmoil due to the lockdown, here are some tips to calm your mind.

1) Find out what is triggering you to travel outside. Understand them and stay away from those triggers. For example, if seeing photos of travel on social media or some friends keep reminding you of those good old travel days, then time to detox yourself from them. Stay away from the people and the things that remind you or encourages you to step outside home.

2) Find the positives in staying at home. Like if your office work is getting done from your home, then you can make a list of the time you are saving by staying at home and not traveling to an office. If you are a homemaker who gets daily household things through online delivery, then make a list of how you are able to relax and get a lot of free time.

3) Practice relaxation every time you get the idea of traveling outside and even make a list of things that you can do to distract your mind whenever it wants to make you step out of the home.

Stay at home, stay healthy, and safe!
