The American video communications company, Zoom is ready to hit the market with an exciting new product in line with Gmail and is planning to mov away from its prime focus on the video conferencing setup.
As per a report shared by The Information, Zoom will be launching its email service by the name of Zmail (zero points for creativity), and even plans to have a Calendar app called Zcal to help users plan and schedule their work calls and meetings efficiently. Though its not official, rumours are that Zoom is likely to make the product announcement at Zoomtopia, which is its annual conference expected to take place in November this year.
Zoom was a savior for the corporate world during the pandemic when work-from-home meetings and virtual sessions were the only way to stay connected and work collaboratively.
The technology of Microsoft, Google, and even WhatsApp came up with new offerings and features to push the level, but Zoom saw a massive uptick as compared to others in the league, because of its existing userbase and ease of use. Now, with the idea of experimenting with something new apart from the video conferencing platform; the brand is willing to challenge the market dominator Gmail which has billions of users across the globe that supports different devices.
Gmail easily managed to take away the share of business from previous mailing giants like Yahoo and Rediffmail. Though Microsoft has its own Outlook to offer but is used mostly by large firms and businesses, Gmail has both consumers and businesses because of the user interface it offers. There is clearly going to be a challenging game for Zoom to convert users to Zmail . The brand has been working relentlessly on the platform for over two years and is expected to launch something exciting enough to grab eyeballs once it launches.
