YouTube to include link on coronavirus vaccines to stop misinformation

Alphabet Inc’s YouTube announced recently that it plans to provide a link on its website that will provide accurate information on the development of the coronavirus vaccines.

The move came in an attempt to avoid the spread of wrong information related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The link will direct users to trusted COVID-19 vaccine information from a third-party source like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the World Health Organization (WHO), said the company in a statement.

Many viral videos providing conspiracy theories and misinformation about the new vaccines have been spread like fire on social media.

Hence, the video platform has decided to take strict action against content that provides wrong information and ban content that contradicts the data from local health authorities or the WHO.
