Vaio returns to India launched two new laptops, E15 and SE14 in India., price starts at Rs 66,990

Spun off from Sony Corporation in 2014, Vaio is making the second innings with the new E15 and SE14 laptops. The biggest highlight of the two laptops is their lightweight. While the Vaio E15 weighs 1.77kg, the Vaio SE14 weights 1.35kg. The MacBook Air weighs 1.27kg, so it is still among the lightest laptops you can get in India. The E15 is a more affordable model, while the SE14 belongs to the premium category. Vaio is touting Vega 8, and Vega 10 Graphics supports the new range, making these laptops somewhat suitable for light to medium gaming.

Vaio E15, SE14 price in India

The Vaio E15 starts at Rs 66,990 in India while the SE14 will cost Rs 84,690. The two laptops will be available in multiple configurations from Flipkart. The pre-order for both laptops are now live on Flipkart, and if you are pre-order, you get an additional Rs 3,000 off on the purchase. This offer is valid till January 24.

Vaio E15, SE14 specifications

The Vaio E15 is the cheaper model in the series, bringing a premium design. The laptop has a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display with thin bezels, which means you have more real estate on the screen. It comes in two configurations; one uses the AMD Ryzen 5 processor. The other one is powered by a Ryzen 7 processor, coupled with Radeon Vega 8 and Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics. There is up to 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD on the laptop. The laptop runs Windows 10 and comes with Microsoft 365 and a 3-in-1 sleeve bundled. Vaio is claiming the E15 battery “delivers sustained all-day power”, which is around eight hours. There is a backlit keyboard, two USB-A ports, and a USB-C port on the Vaio E15. It comes in Ink Black and Tin Silver colourways.

The SE14 is the premium one in the series, bringing a 14-inch 1080p IPS anti-glare display. Unlike the E15, this Vaio laptop is powered by an eighth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, with a 1.6GHz clock speed and Turbo Boosts of 3.9GHz but the processor is way too old. There is 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD on these laptops. The Vaio SE14 has a 1080p webcam and a four-speaker design where there are two speakers on top while two are down-firing. There is a fingerprint sensor on the laptop, which you can use to unlock the laptop using Windows Hello. There are two USB 3.0 ports, two USB-C ports, and an HDMI port. The laptop is rated to deliver a battery backup of 13 hours.

Vaio said that it would bring more laptops to India across price categories, including low-budget laptops.
