Stay safe from the WhatsApp OTP scam

WhatsApp is no doubt one of the most famous messaging services all over the world.

Thus, getting affected by hackers or scammers on the app is quite obvious considering the large number of users.

Whenever you start a new account on WhatsApp or register your WhatsApp account on a new smartphone, you would get an OTP from WhatsApp to set up the account.

Remember, WhatsApp doesn’t send the OTP unless required. Thus, if anyone gets in touch with you asking for the OTP sent to you by WhatsApp, never share it.

Hackers are very smart and thus, will manipulate you to share the OTP via Facebook or SMS or calls, which you should avoid completely.
