Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Unicode Consortium had declared earlier this year that they won’t be releasing any new emoji in 2021.
But surprisingly, as the situation started improving in terms of companies resuming their work, the Unicode Consortium has come up with 200 new emojis that will be introduced in your phones next year.
Since this a minor release, the Unicode Consortium’s volunteer organisation has made it possible to work on the new emojis.
The new additions to the emojis are part of the Emoji 13.1 release. It will have some very relatable emojis.
The face with spiral eyes will be the new emoji that will be made available on all platforms.
The other emojis are skin tone variants, and will have couples with hearts and couples kissing. Also, there’s a person with beard emoji for women as well.
