Redmi K40 retail box leaks, launch in February 2021.

Ahead of its launch, details about the phone have started coming in thick and fast with leaked images of the device’s retail packaging appearing on the web. The leaked image reveals the size of the packaging, and hints that the phone may not come with a charger in the box — a strategy the company has already tried with the Mi 11.

The Redmi K40 series is set to bring two new phones with itself, with one of them being the K40 Pro. The successor of the Redmi K30 series from last year, this new phone will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor under the hood. This will be the second phone from Xiaomi to be launched with the chipset as the company had earlier launched the Mi 11 as its first Snapdragon 888 SoC device at the end of December 2020.

While the Mi 11 was launched as a premium offering, the Redmi K40 will be launched at an affordable price point. The launch of the phone has already been confirmed for February. In the past, leaks have claimed that the Redmi K40 Pro will bring with itself a selfie camera housed inside a punch-hole at its upper-left corner. Previous leaks have also claimed that the K40 Pro will flaunt an OLED panel with a slim punch-hole which could be 3.7mm in size. The battery backing the phone could reportedly be a 45000mAh pack.

For now, there’s little else known about the Redmi K40 Pro. However, we expect more details about the device to emerge in the days to come especially, as the device is now confirmed and barely weeks away from a commercial launch.
