A tipster has spotted the Mi Watch Lite-on India’s BIS certification website, which hints at an imminent launch.
As per tipster Mukul Sharma, Mi Watch Lite had appeared on India’s BIS certification website. Nothing apart from the watch was mentioned on the site, but it is enough to conclude that the smartwatch will be launched in India pretty soon. The Mi Watch Lite was launched in China at CNY 299 ( 3,400 approx). In India, the smartwatch could be found in the budget category with a price under Rs 5000. Once released the smartwatch will compete with Realme Watch, Amazfit Bip U, and other smartwatches in the budget categories.
The Mi Watch Lite features a square-shaped screen just like the Redmi Watch. It weighs only 35g with the strap and 31g without the belt. The smartwatch was announced in China with three different colour options: watch cases and five strap colours. The colours include Pink, Ivory, Black, Navy blue, and Olive.
Now coming to the specifications, Mi Watch features a 1.4-inch display with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. The display comes with features including automatic brightness control based on ambient lighting conditions. The Mi Watch Lite further comes pre-installed with multiple fitness modes and the ability to monitor heart rate continuously. The Redmi Watch can be paired with the Mi Fit app to customize it with various watch faces. It is an NFC-enabled offering that also supports Bluetooth 5.0 LE. Coming to the fitness bit, the Mi Watch Lite comes with various fitness activities tracker under the hood. Some of the activities include running, cycling, and indoor swimming. The watch is also water-resistant up to 50 meters and as mentioned above has a heart rate sensor that can give 24-hour heart monitoring and even a 30-day report of the user’s resting heart rate. The Mi Watch Lite furthers brings with itself the ability to monitor sleep and brings suggestions for breathing exercises.
Xiaomi has claimed that the watch offers a 9-day battery life on typical usage, as it comes using a 230mAh battery that can be fully charged in 2 hours. However, this is done only through a proprietary charger.
