New Delhi: The BCCI has decided to organize the T20 World Cup immediately after the IPL but the event will be played in UAE and Oman instead of India. BCCI secretary Jay Shah made a big statement about this and told that the board is thinking of shifting the hosting of the T20 World Cup.
It is noteworthy that even though the venue of the T20 World Cup will change but its hosting will remain with the BCCI. According to the report, the T20 World Cup will start from October 17, 2 days after the final match of IPL 2021, while the final match will be played on November 14.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said, “In view of the deteriorating condition due to Corona virus in India, we can shift the T20 World Cup to the UAE. We are monitoring the situation very closely. The health and safety of the players is our priority. We will take a final call on this very soon.
Significantly, IPL 2021 had to be stopped midway amid the second wave of corona virus spreading in India. Due to this, the BCCI decided to organize the remaining matches in the UAE. At the same time, in view of the possibility of a third wave of corona virus in India, the board is working on taking precautions and with this it will be easier to host both the tournaments at one place.
