‘Shooter Dadi’ died in Meerut from Covid-19

Meerut: Chandro Tomar, popularly known as Shooter Dadi, died on Friday. She was suffering from corona and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Meerut. Recently, there was a film based on his life, ‘Saand ki Aankh’. Shooter Dadi Chandro Tomar lived with her family in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.

On Tuesday, it was reported that shooter Daadi was found to be Covid-19 positive. She was admitted to the hospital due to trouble in breathing. Chandro Tomar was over 60 years old when she took up shooting, but after that she won many national competitions. She is considered to be the oldest shooter in the world.

She participated in many competitions with her sister (Devrani) Prakashi Tomar. Prakashi is also among the world’s oldest female shooters. In her life, she also eliminated many stereotypes in the male dominated society.
