Kohli army embarrassed in Adelaide, Australia beat India by 8 wickets, lead series 1-0

Adelaide: The day of 19 December 2020 has become the worst day in the history of Indian cricket. To this day, Indian batsmen have added a very embarrassing record. Australia easily achieved the target of 90 runs in the first Test match. In this way, India lost by 8 wickets in the first Test. With this defeat, India are trailing 1-0 in the four-match series.

When the Indian team scored 36 runs for nine wickets, Mohammed Shami had to leave the crease due to injury, the innings ended there. Australia managed to reach the target easily, losing two wickets on the third day. India’s previous minimum score was 42 runs, which he scored against England in 1974 at Lord’s. The record for the lowest score in Test cricket is in the name of New Zealand, who scored 26 against Auckland in 1955 against England.

India’s troubles have not ended here. Fast bowler Shami has suffered an injury on his wrist and may be out of the series. Pat Cummins had a rising ball on his wrist after which he had to leave the field. Thus the Indian innings ended in 21.2 overs. The Indian team had a 53-run lead in the first innings, but despite this, she was able to target only 90 runs in front of Australia.

The burden of the Indian team’s 1974 performance has been carried by heavyweights like Sunil Gavaskar and Ajit Wadekar, but now Adelaide’s performance has been replaced. Like Gavaskar, current cricket legend Virat Kohli would like to forget this day. At one time India’s score was 26 for eight and looked in a position to match the minimum score of Test cricket but the Hanuma Vihari (eight) four saved the team from equaling the worst record in cricket history.
