IPL-14: Kolkata won the match by stormy innings of Nitish Rana

Chennai: KKR made their IPL debut with a win. The team defeated Hyderabad by 11 runs in the first match. Hyderabad started poorly after chasing 189 runs. The team lost the wicket of both their openers on a score of 10. Prasiddh Krishna was caught by David Warner to Dinesh Karthik on a score of 3. In the very next over, Wriddhiman Saha was clean bowled by Shakib Al Hasan.

Manish Pandey and Johnny Bairstow took over the team after two wickets fell early. Both batsmen partnered 92 runs to get the team out of trouble. Johnny Bairstow got a score of 55 by Pete Cummins caught by Nitish Rana. Prasiddh Krishna first harassed the Nabi with a bouncer. Nabi then hit a four in reply, but was eventually dismissed by Prasiddh Krishna.

Earlier, Nitish Rana played a blistering innings against Hyderabad. Rana scored an innings of 80 runs in 56 balls. With this innings, Rana also took a special record in his name. Rana has scored 50 or more runs in the IPL, batting at every position from number 1 to 5. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rashid Khan (2 for 24) then bowled brilliantly and troubled the batsmen, while the other bowlers of the team did not look so effective on the wicket for the batsmen.
