India vs Pakistan: Countdown Before Battle of Legends

The ICC T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is only a few hours away. The last time the two met was in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 when India lost for the first time in an ICC competition against Pakistan. Even though Virat Kohli was captain at the time, the key issue now is whether India would avenge their Champions Trophy loss today. This is a tremendous chance for Virat Kohli to avenge himself.

The second issue is whether India will extend its World Cup-winning streak against Pakistan. Third, will Pakistan, under Babar Azam’s captaincy, break this tradition? Another question: will any Pakistani bowler dismiss Virat Kohli for the first time in the T20 World Cup? Because on the previous three instances, Virat has emerged unscathed after leading his side to victory.

Both sides have won the World Cup once. India won the first event in 2007, defeating Pakistan, while Pakistan won the T20 World Championship in England in 2009, defeating Sri Lanka in the final. That was, however, 12 years ago. Since then, cricket has evolved significantly. As is customary, there will be a major match between the two arch-rivals, which every sports fan anticipates. This is the last tournament of this format for Virat Kohli as a captain since he has previously stated his decision to stand down from the captaincy of this format. For Babar Azam, whose captaincy career is just beginning, this is the last tournament of this format for him as a captain.

Both leaders feel confident in their team’s ability to win. Babar has informed his teammates, but Kohli has yet to play his cards. This is also a type of mental exercise. In most cases, the opposite occurs. India reveals its starting XI a day ahead of time in most matches, whereas Pakistan only does so on rare occasions. This time, though, the situation is reversed.

When comparing the two teams, India has a significant advantage over Pakistan. At present, KL’s batting line-up is loaded with knowledgeable hitters. Rahul, Rohit, Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar, captain Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and the fiery Hardik Pandya are all batting well, while Shardul, Jadeja, and Ashwin are all bowling well. In addition, he is always willing to assist the team. When it comes to bowling, there is a lethal combination of unrivalled Bumrah and seasoned Shami. The practice gained during the just ended IPL is the cherry on top for Team India.

On the other hand, the country has had its share of issues in the past when it comes to Pakistan. On one occasion, teams from New Zealand and England cancelled their visit to Pakistan, resulting in them not acquiring the necessary practice before the World Cup. Despite this, Pakistan’s team should not be underestimated. He also possesses a slew of such guys that can swing the game in his favour.

Babar and Rizwan are a good opening combo. Fakhar Zaman has shown what he can do in both warm-up matches. Shoaib Malik, the veteran, and the explosive Asif Ali, who has joined the squad at the last minute, are dangerous bowlers. Even in this, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali are a stormy duo. Pakistan won the Champions Trophy by beating India thanks to Hassan’s bowling. Haris Rauf is a lightning-quick player, and Shadab and Imad Wasim have a lot of expertise with this format.

Naturally, Virat Sena is the favourite for this fantastic encounter, but the Babar Army is equally eager to make history. Hopefully, cricket fans who have been waiting for years will be able to see a high-octane, nail-biting battle. The first issue that emerges in every international match between the two is whether Pakistan would be the first to win or whether India will maintain its winning streak. So, the waiting clocks are about to stop ticking; in a few hours, we’ll know if the tradition will continue or whether it will be broken. I believe the match should not be one-sided; otherwise, it would be a huge letdown.
