According to a new ICC rule, no player below the age of 15 will be able to play international matches. It also has under-19 cricket including men, women.
However, under exceptional circumstances, the board may allow a player below 15 years of age to play. This will be possible only when that player is able to compete with the demands of the international cricket team.
The ICC said in a statement, in the event of an exception, the member board may appeal to the ICC to approve players under 15 years of age. It will take care of the player’s playing experience, mental development and how he will be able to withstand the pressure of international cricket.
The youngest debut record in international cricket is named after Pakistan’s Hasan Raza, who played his first match at the age of 14. Sachin Tendulkar (16 years) is the youngest international debut record in India.
