Former cricketer Chetan Chauhan’s condition critical, kept on life support system

New Delhi: Former India cricketer Chetan Chauhan’s health has deteriorated, due to which he has been placed on life support system in Medanta, Gurugram. Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan was found to be Corona positive on 19 July, due to which the former cricketer was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI Hospital in Lucknow, from where he was later shifted to Medanta.

Chetan Chauhan suffered from kidney and blood pressure problems while being treated for a corona infection, after which he was shifted to the ventilator on the night of 14 August. In the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, Chauhan has the Ministry of Military Welfare, Home Guards, PRD and Civil Defense.

Chauhan scored 2084 runs for India in 40 Tests between 1969 and 1978. During this time his average was 31.57 while the best score was 97 runs. He also scored 153 runs in seven ODIs.
