England squad announced for ODI series against Pakistan

New Delhi. England has made no changes in the 16-man squad for the three ODIs against Pakistan. This series is starting from 8 July in Cardiff. The team, led by Eoin Morgan, is missing Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, who have been battling finger and elbow injuries.

Jos Buttler is also out, while Somerset batsman Tom Banton has been included as cover for David Malan. Sussex left-arm pacer George Garten, who received his first national call-up during the Sri Lanka series, has retained his spot along with pacers Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, David Willey and both Sam and Tom Curran.

The squad for the three-match T20I series to be played after the three ODIs will be announced later. One-day matches will be played in Cardiff, London and Birmingham on July 8, 10 and 13, while three T20 matches will be played in Nottingham, Leeds and Manchester on July 16, 18 and 20.

Due to the improvement in the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the United Kingdom, the England government has allowed spectators to come to the stadium for the second ODI of the series. The stadium can hold 31,100 spectators. Lord’s allowed 25 per cent of the visitors during England’s two-match Test series against New Zealand last month. While Edgbaston, the venue for the second Test, was allowed to fill up to 70 percent (18,000 spectators).
