Christchurch: Team India captain Virat Kohli continues to disappoint on the tour of New Zealand. Kohli was dismissed for 3 in the first innings of the Christchurch Test on Saturday. Earlier, he was able to score between 2 and 19 in both innings of the first Test played in Wellington.
On this tour of New Zealand, Kohli has so far scored 227 runs in 10 innings with the help of only one half-century. In the last five international innings, Kohli has been able to score 3,19,2,9 and just 48 runs.
Kohli was dismissed by New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee and with this he became the highest player to dismiss Kohli 10 times in international cricket. Apart from Saudi, James Anderson and Graeme Swann have bowled Kohli 8-8 times.
Now Kohli has failed to score a century in 21 consecutive international innings. This is Kohli’s longest wait since 2014 for his century.
Virat Kohli scored his last century in November 2019 while playing a 136-run Test innings against Bangladesh. Since then, he has been able to score only six half-centuries in his last 21 international innings, but he has not been able to convert one of them into a century.
