Birmingham: Babar Azam’s number-1 in the ICC ODI batting rankings was seen in the third and final ODI against England being played in Birmingham on Tuesday. Babar Azam regained his form and completed the 14th century of his ODI career. 26-year-old Babar Azam completed his hundred in 104 balls with the help of 9 fours and two sixes. With this century, Babar Azam made a world record in his name.

Babar Azam has become the batsman to score 14 ODI centuries in the shortest innings. He broke the record of former South African batsman Hashim Amla (84 innings) to make this world record. Australian opener David Warner (98 innings) is at the third place among those who have completed 14 ODI centuries in the shortest innings. Indian captain Virat Kohli is at the fourth position in this list by completing 14 ODI centuries in 103 innings.

At the same time, Babar Azam has reached the third place in terms of scoring the most centuries in ODIs for Pakistan. The record for most ODI centuries for Pakistan is held by former opener Saeed Anwar, who scored 20 centuries in 244 innings. Former batsman Mohammad Yousuf is second in this list with 15 centuries in 267 innings. Babar Azam has scored 14 centuries in 81 innings and he has settled in this third place.
