New Delhi. After a clean sweep in the 2-match Test series against South Africa, the West Indies team now has to play a 3-match T20 series against the South African team. In this regard, Cricket West Indies has announced its 13-man squad for the first two T20 matches, in which 2 veteran players have returned before the T20 World Cup. Legendary batsman Chris Gayle, who played for Punjab Kings in IPL and Andre Russell, all-rounder who played for Kolkata Knight Riders, has returned.
For the West Indies, Andre Russell last played an international match against Sri Lanka at Pallekele ground in 2020, while Chris Gayle last made a comeback in the home series against Sri Lanka this year. Both the players are being given a chance keeping in mind the team of T20 World Cup to be played this year.
