Gandhi will then travel by road to Jalandhar and speak at a virtual rally in Mithapur. Navjot Singh Sidhu, the state Congress chairman, disclosed Gandhi’s plan for the day in a tweet, saying the party is looking forward to receiving him.
“On January 27th, our visionary leader Rahul Gandhi Ji will pay a visit to Punjab. “Every Congress worker in Punjab is looking forward to welcoming him,” Sidhu tweeted.
This is Gandhi’s first visit to Punjab since the Election Commission of India banned physical rallies earlier this month in response to the escalating number of Covid-19 cases.
