Sukhbir Singh Badal, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), stated on Sunday that Punjabis will never give Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national leader Arvind Kejriwal‘s failing Delhi model a chance in Punjab.

“Implementing the Delhi model will entail taxing farmers for agricultural power supply and scrapping the SAD’s free agriculture supply scheme,” Sukhbir said after inducting scores of Congress leaders into the party at the home of SAD’s Patiala Rural seat candidate Jaspal Singh Bittu Chattha.
He further said that it included supplying power to the home and industrial sectors at a cost of $13 per unit.
“On all major topics, Kejriwal has always taken a stand against Punjab. Kejriwal has taken a posture against Punjabis in the Supreme Court, whether it is over the sharing of Punjab’s river waters with Haryana and Delhi, the closing of the state’s thermal plants, or the registration of criminal cases against Punjabi farmers for burning rice stubble,” the SAD president stated.

He also cautioned people against believing AAP’s promises. “Is there any guarantee that the AAP will remain together as a party?” “As you may have noticed, three of the party’s four MPs and eleven of its twenty lawmakers have resigned,” he noted.
