Chhindwara: Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya Mishra, who hoisted the Indian flag on the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, and her daughter Siddhi Mishra have been appointed as brand ambassadors for the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign by the Department of Women and Child Development. The event took place on August 10, 2024, at the PM College of Excellence PG College in Chhindwara. The program was attended by Chhindwara MP Vivek Bunty Sahu, Chhindwara Collector Sheelendra Singh, Mayor Vikram Ahake, BJP Chhindwara District President Sheshrao Yadav, Municipal Commissioner Chandra Prakash Rai, ADM Khemchand Bopche, SDM Sudhir Jain, and District Program Officer, Women and Child Development, Dr. Monika Bisen.
Chhindwara MP Vivek Bunty Sahu expressed his happiness, saying, “The achievements of Bhawna and Siddhi are proof of what our daughters can accomplish when given the right opportunities. Their appointment as brand ambassadors will help spread the message of girls’ education and gender equality across the nation.”
Chhindwara Collector Sheelendra Singh remarked, “Bhawna Dehariya and Siddhi Mishra are living examples of what can be achieved through hard work and determination. Their role as brand ambassadors will certainly inspire more families to support and nurture their daughters’ dreams.”
Mayor Vikram Ahake stated, “It is a matter of pride for Chhindwara that such exceptional women from our district are representing the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign. Bhawna and Siddhi’s achievements will inspire the younger generation to aim high and challenge societal norms.”
District Program Officer, Women and Child Development, Dr. Monika Bisen, expressed her joy over the appointment, saying, “The selection of Bhawna Dehariya and her daughter Siddhi Mishra as brand ambassadors for the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign symbolizes the spirit of determination and achievement. Their inspiring journey will motivate countless girls and women to pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles.”
It is noteworthy that Bhawna’s daughter, Siddhi Mishra, born on April 7, 2021, became the youngest girl in the world and the youngest person in India to reach the Everest Base Camp (EBC) in Nepal at just two years old, alongside her mother. The camp is situated at an altitude of 5,364 meters above sea level. During this expedition, the mother-daughter duo spread the message of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign to the world.
