Haridwar, December 21, 2023: Nearly 10% of the population in India is affected by kidney diseases. Given the rising Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Chronic Kidney Disorders in Uttarakhand, experts from Delhi-based Dharmshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital have started regular visits to the city for their OPDs to make people aware of prevention and availability of advanced treatment and care.

On December 21, renowned kidney specialist Dr. LK Jha, Director and Senior Consultant, Nephrology from Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital provided consultancy and tips to hundreds of people during an OPD for Kidney-related diseases at Ojas Hospital in Haridwar. Dr. Jha made people aware of the prevention and availability of advanced treatment and care for Kidney ailments.

Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital also announced that the Speciality OPD will be organized every first and third Thursday of the month.
CEO of Dharamshila Narayana Suprspeciality Hospital Mr. Navin Sharma along with prominent officials from Nutan Ojas Hospital including Director Dr. Deepak Agrawal and Medical Superintendent Dr. Vineet Kumar were present during the inauguration of the OPD at Haridwar.

Renowned kidney specialist Dr. L. K. Jha Director and Senior Consultant Nephrology at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital provided consultations and examinations for the patients during the OPD.

Dr. Jha emphasized the importance of timely treatment for kidney-related diseases and said that the OPD aims to raise awareness. He advised people to pay serious attention to their health by drinking plenty of water, consuming low-sodium salt, maintaining a healthy weight, regularly checking cholesterol levels, monitoring blood pressure, getting kidney function tests annually, avoiding smoking and alcohol, and engaging in light exercises like jogging, cycling, swimming, or daily workouts.

Understanding the symptoms of kidney problems, such as decreased appetite, swelling in body parts, burning or pain during urination, and abdominal or back pain, Dr. Jha urged people to seek immediate medical attention in case of any such issues.
