Punjab Ekta Party merged with Congress

New Delhi: Three MLAs of Punjab Ekta Party on Thursday met former Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his residence and announced the merger of their party with the Congress.

Congress sources said here that Sardar Sukhpal Singh Khaira, former Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly and MLA of Punjab Ekta Party from Bholat, Sardar Jagdev Singh, MLA from Maur and Nirmal Singh, MLA from Bhadaur, met Mr. Gandhi this afternoon with his 12 Tughlaqs. Lane residence and announced the merger of his party with the Congress.

Sources said that Congress general secretary in-charge of Punjab and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat was also present during this.
