NewDelhi: After the drubbing in recently concluded assembly elections in the five states Congress is finally willing to take political strategist Prashant Kishore (PK) in the party. Speculations about PK induction into the party was doing the rounds for quite some time but now the central leadership has asked him to join the party as a worker, not as an election strategist.

A meeting of senior Congress party leaders is being held on Saturday at the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. In this brainstorming meeting, known as ‘Chintan Shivir’ the General Secretary of Congress, K.C. Venugopal, senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Ambika Soni and some other leaders were present. According to sources, in this ‘Chintan Shivar’, especially election strategist Prashant Kishor is being considered to be included in the Congress party. Apart from this, preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, membership campaigns, and some other issues are likely to be discussed.

According to the party sources, PK has given a detailed presentation about 2024; but INC and senior leadership has asked Prashant to join in an individual capacity as a political worker rather than as an election strategist. There is also talk of PK joining the Congress because in March Prashant Kishor met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Now after PK’s participation in Saturday’s Congress meeting, this discussion has once again gained strength that PK can join the Congress party. It is said that earlier in 2020 also Prashant Kishor was all set to join the Congress party, but due to some disagreements, this plan did not materialize. Considering to be included in the plan. It was believed that PK has given the idea that the ‘Leuva Patel” Patidar leader Naresh Patel was projected as the Gujarat chief ministerial candidate but he was still not inducted in the party.
