Date:

New Delhi. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that India has no dispute with the US on the trade front and there are huge possibilities of bilateral trade. Goyal while addressing the India Energy Forum said, “We have no dispute with America.” There are some differences with the US, which occur in any bilateral relationship. On these differences, he said that a little uncertainty in any relationship is good for healthy and better bilateral relations.

He believes that there is a lot of potential for American companies to invest in India. On the imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies, Goyal said that it is a quasi-judicial body and has nothing to do with the government. On the economic slowdown, the Commerce Minister said that the Indian economy can do well with basic adjustments like economic policies. He emphasized that the economy has performed well five years excluding the last two quarters. The country’s economic growth has come down to five percent in the first quarter of the current financial year.
