Congress president election in May

New Delhi: In the meeting of the Congress Working Committee, it was decided that the election for the post of president in Congress will be held in May this year. In the Congress Working Committee meeting, he also alleged that the government has shown astonishing insensitivity and arrogance in the name of interaction with farmer organizations.

A meeting of the Congress Working Committee, the apex policy-making body of the Congress, began on Friday. In this, the election of the organization, farmer movement and some other issues are being discussed. Sources say that the Central Election Authority headed by senior leader Madhusudhan Mistry has proposed to hold the organization, including the Congress president, in May after assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry. Sources say that the Election Authority has also offered to hold the session on 29 May.

The CWC is discussing the election authority’s proposal and a final decision will be taken on it today. Significantly, a large section of Congress leaders has been advocating for a long time that Rahul Gandhi should take over the reins of the Congress. Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala recently said that 99.99 percent of the Congress people want Rahul Gandhi to lead them again.
