Patna. In the last 24 hours, more than 29 people died and many others were injured due to heavy rains in Bihar. Disaster Management Department has saved around thousand people.
According to reports, on Sunday, near the east gate of Danapur railway station under Khagaul police station in Patna city, due to heavy rains, a tree fell on an autorickshaw and killed a one and a half year old girl and three women. On Sunday, six people were buried under debris and another person was injured after heavy rains in the Barari police station area of Bhagalpur district collapsed at different places.
Bhagalpur District Magistrate Pranab Kumar said that due to heavy rains, three people were killed and another injured when a wall of a Hanuman temple in Bari police station area suddenly fell. He said that due to heavy rains, three people died under the rubble of a house wall falling in Khanjarpur area under Bari police station.
Five people and one person have died due to drowning in Gaya district. In Kaimur district, three people died after falling for two consecutive days due to the wall of mud houses at two places due to rain. Kaimur District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary said that 62-year-old woman Mukhi Devi and her 12-year-old granddaughter Savita Kumari died after the wall of a mud house collapsed in Sabri Nagar locality in ward number seven of district headquarters Bhabhua.
Choudhary’s six-year-old son Shivam died after the mud wall collapsed in Dumarath village under Bhabua police station in Kaimur district. In Begusarai district, one person died and three others were injured when a wall collapsed. One person has died due to drowning in Jamui district and falling wall in Purnia district.
