New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Saturday that the 2024 Lok Sabha polls will see a direct contest between the Bharatiya Janata Partty and the Aam Aadmi Party. His statement came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided his residential premises and other locations on Friday, citing irregularities in Delhi government’s excise policy. Sisodia told journalists that the raids were politically motivated. Sisodia further said that the election would be between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The BJP is concerned about the rise of Kejriwal who has become an alternative to the ruling party after AAP’s victory in the assembly elections in Punjab. The Deputy Chief Minister also said that he might be arrested in a day or two. He also said that the Delhi government’s excise policy is the best of all excise policies in the country.
