November 5th, Mumbai: Arpita Mehta’s bloom of colour finds its way from the catwalk and our screens to the heart of Mumbai at Khar. Set in the middle of this hustling-bustling city, Arpita Mehta’s first flagship store exudes the calm of a cottage from a bygone era.
Says Arpita about this new step for the brand, “I was looking for a space that felt special- something that had a charm about it, and this space is just that! With a massive facade and an entryway lined with trees, this is a slice of calm in the city I love. A stone’s throw from our workshop, the flagship store is a dream come true, and finally, a place to engage with our shoppers every day.”
The store is a collection of memories in dust pink, the very best kind. The terrazzo tiled flooring – a piece of summer memories with Nani and IPS facade in dust pink from holidays in Mykonos’ island comfort. This detail extends into creating cozy nooks within the store using custom mid-century modern furniture- the cane chairs, a plush velvet couch, and beautiful rugs could almost make you believe you’re in Arpita’s home discussing your wardrobe. To that heirloom silverware only add to that feeling of cosy intimacy. The store uses a minimalist style to keep attention on the colours bursting across garments. The easy balance between space and design makes this retail store a serene exploration of luxury. The Architect Ravi Vazirani took an effort to build this balance of minimalism with a sense of luxury.
Launching on the 5th of November the store will feature Arpita Mehta’s classic signature pieces including jacket dresses, ghararas, lehengas and a new collection calledMeadaura. The collections are also available to buy on her website https://arpitamehtaofficial.com.
