Meerut | Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s demise was shocking to everyone of all age-groups in the country. So much is Lata Didi’s contribution to Indian cinema industry that no one can deny what she meant to the world of cinema. With work that spans decades, Lata didi has a die-hard fan in the name of Gaurav Sharma from Meerut whom you cannot address as a normal buff because of the kind of work he has done in admiration for Lata didi. You would be amazed to know that Gaurav has collected every book written on Lata didi, even by Pakistani and Australian writers, list of all songs that she has sung in her career. Moreover, he also has set up 6 Lata Vatikas in schools where he has planted thousands of trees as a respect to Lata didi’s contribution to the entertainment industry.

About the death of Lata Mangeshkar, Sharma says he is neither happy nor sad as he feels that after a struggling phase in life, Lata didi has now entered into a new realm, as per his statement to a media portal. Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday morning at the age of 92.

Sharma who works as the special educator in the education department of Uttar Pradesh says he is thankful to his grandmother for introducing the songs of Lata didi to him. It was in 1988 when he was only six years old that a fan of Lata didi was born inside him. His all-time favorite song of the legendary and well-known singer is Radha Na Bole from the 1955 movie Azaad.

He has built a temple of Lata didi inside his home with so many newspaper cuttings, photos of Lata didi of all ages and songs cassettes of her entire career. He even mentioned to a media portal of how he is willing to offer his collections to a museum dedicated for the singer. His most emotional moment was when he got an opportunity to meet the singer through a music company in 2013 in Lata Didi’s home, it was indeed an unforgettable moment in Sharma’s life.
