New Delhi: Former Indian batsman Dilip Vengsarkar has appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that former team batsman Rahul Dravid should be sent to Australia immediately to help Team India.
Vengsarkar, who has been the head of selectors, believes that Dravid’s experience as a coach will help Team India in the absence of regular captain Virat Kohli. India suffered a crushing defeat by eight wickets in the first Test match at the hands of Australia and the Indian team was bowled out for 36 runs in their second innings, the lowest score in their Test history, after which many questions were raised about Indian batting. Huh.
Vengsarkar told a newspaper, “The BCCI should send Dravid to Australia immediately. No one can guide the Indian batsmen better than Dravid in the atmosphere of Australia. His stay in the Nets will help the team immensely. The board can use Dravid well in the national team. ”
Vengsarkar said that Dravid should be sent immediately as he can still join the team from the third Test if he has to stay in Quarantine for 14 days.
