Lucknow: In the latest political development Asaduddin Owaisi invited senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan to join his party All India Majlis-e-Muslimeen (AIMIM) to join his party. Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur jail, said to be angry with SP, received a letter sent by AIMIM. Earlier, Azam Khan’s media in-charge Farshat Ali Khan openly slammed Akhilesh Yadav in a political program in Rampur by saying that the SP chief, no more like Muslims. He also quoted CM Yogi’s statement where he said that “Akhilesh doesn’t want Azam to come out of jail”.

AIMIM spokesperson Mohammad Farhan has written this letter to Azam Khan. According to Farhan, he sent a letter to Azam Khan only after the approval of party chief Asaduddin Owaisi. In this 3-page letter, it has been written that the ‘Samajwadi Party is not sympathetic to Muslims at all. She treats Muslims only as vote bank. Akhilesh Yadav and his warlords have not raised any concrete voice for Azam Khan and his family in the last 3 years. Therefore, there is an appeal to Azam Khan to lead the party workers by joining MIM and together with Asaduddin Owaisi, give political identity to Muslims.

Along with this, the AIMIM leader has also sought time to meet Azam Khan in jail. It is reported that after getting approval of Azam Khan, the big leaders of MIM will go to jail and meet him, where Azam Khan will be given a formal invitation to join the party.
The invitation given to Azam Khan is being seen as an attempt by Owaisi’s party to woo Muslim voters. It is reported that this letter will also be sent to Azam Khan and his family through the party leaders of Rampur.
