News Desk – US Senator Lindsey Graham has said that if Donald Trump returns as President, he will impose heavy tariffs on countries like India, China, and Brazil for continuing to buy oil from Russia.
In an interview on Fox News, Graham said these three countries buy nearly 80% of Russia’s crude oil, which he claimed is helping fund Russia’s war in Ukraine. He warned that Trump plans to put a 100% tariff on oil-related imports from these countries to stop the money flow to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Graham didn’t hold back: “If you’re buying cheap Russian oil, you’re funding bloodshed in Ukraine. Trump’s going to punish you for that.”
He directly addressed Putin, saying the Russian leader had made a big mistake by underestimating Trump and that the US will continue supplying weapons to Ukraine. Graham accused Putin of trying to rebuild the former Soviet Union by invading other countries and breaking past promises—like the one made to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty after it gave up nuclear weapons in the 1990s.
He also issued a strong warning to India, China, and Brazil:
“If you keep buying Russian oil, we’ll crush your economy. Trump is done playing games.”
Graham said countries doing business with the US will have to choose between trading with America or supporting Putin—and he believes they’ll pick the US.
