Date:

At least ten people lost their lives when a bus full of pilgrims was attacked by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. The sudden violence has shocked many and raises security concern.

The bus was traveling from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi. The attack lead to the bus to fall into a deep gorge, leading to the deaths and injuries of passengers.

Vaishno Devi Temple is 35 kilometers away from Reasi district. The region had been considered a ‘no-go zone’ for terrorists. However, this attack has exposed the vulnerability of this region.

Officials claim that preparations for the Amarnath Yatra make the route crucial for pilgrims.

The timing of this attack coincides with the oath ceremony of PM Narendra Modi’s third cabinet in Delhi.

The incident raised questions about the safety measures for pilgrimage routes in Jammu and Kashmir.
