Final decision by Sonia on PK role in Congress, after 3 meetings: Sources
NewDelhi: A marathon meeting of top Congress leaders was held at Congress President Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath in the presence of Prashant Kishor (PK) to decide his fate in Congress. But there was no decision on him yet in the grand old party India. According to sources, Sonia Gandhi will take the final decision on Prashant Kishor's role in Congress. Party leaders have given their opinion regarding PK. At the same time, the news is coming in the midst of the meeting that on May 14-16, Congress will organize a Chintan Shivir in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
PK's third meeting with Congress leaders at 10 Janpath
For the third time in 4 days, a meeting is being held between Prashant Kishor and the top leadership of Congress. In the meeting, the strategy of PK prepared for 2024 is being discussed. Simultaneously, a strategy is being prepared for the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh.
10 leaders including Kamal Nath-Digvijay were present in the meeting
Ambika Soni, AK Antony, Digvijay Singh, Mukul Wasnik, Randeep Surjewala, Venugopal, Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh are present in the meeting. Kamal Nath has attended the meeting for the first time. The second meeting between the party leadership was held on Monday evening. In this, PK gave a presentation about the strategy in those states, where assembly elections are to be held before the Lok Sabha elections.
Meeting lasted for nearly 4 hours but none of the G-23 leaders present.
The first meeting was held on Saturday
On Saturday, election strategist Prashant Kishor gave a 4-hour presentation at Sonia Gandhi's residence regarding Election 2024. PK told in the roadmap that the party should focus on 370 seats in the Lok Sabha, alliances in Maharashtra, Bengal and Tamil Nadu, while adopting the policy of 'Ekla Chalo' in Odisha, Bihar and UP. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi agreed with PK's presentation.
Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, P Chidambaram, Mukul Wasnik, Randeep Surjewala were present in this meeting held at 10 Janpath. However, Rahul Gandhi was not present in this meeting which lasted for 4 hours.
After the presentation of Prashant Kishor given on Saturday, the Congress has formed a committee of AK Antony, Mallikarjun Kharge and Ambika Soni. According to sources, the leaders present in the meeting have asked PK to join Congress. However, there is suspense on which post, PK will work for.
