NewsSolar Mission: Somanath claims that Aditya L1 will arrive at Lagrange Point

Date:

According to ISRO chairman S. Somnath on Thursday, the Indian Space Research Organization’s solar mission, Aditya L1, will reach the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system on January 6. This would allow the spacecraft to view the sun without any eclipse. September of this year marked the commencement of the mission. Aditya L1 is getting close. Adiyta L1 arrives at Lagrange Point at 4pm on January 6. Aditya L1’s engine will be burned extremely carefully in order for it to enter the halo orbit. Somnath stated this during the annual science and technology festival, Techfest 2023, held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The Lagrange point is the point at which the gravitational pull of the sun and earth cancels out. Because there are other bodies such as the Moon, Mars, Venus, and others, absolute neutralization is not achievable, Somanath stated. He said that all six payloads are working properly after testing and providing excellent data. As long as the satellite’s internal electronics are in good working order and can send data, it will be condemned to stare at the sun for eternity after the insertion. We want to learn more about the relationship between the solar corona and mass ejection and how it affects the space weather that we experience on a daily basis, Somanath said.

Following 14 days of data collection on Chandrayaan-3, India’s lunar mission, Somanath reported that the Pragyan rover is resting soundly on the lunar surface. In history, it has dozed off eternally. Regretfully, despite our best efforts, it failed to awaken. He replied that the entire system functioned when we tested it in our lab. Somanath clarified that a number of factors, including radiation, could prevent some systems from functioning on the lunar surface, even though they did in the lab.
