On Friday, Prime Minister Modi will begin his tour of Maharashtra in Nashik, where he will officially open the 27th National Youth Festival. The Prime Minister’s office said in a statement on Thursday that Prime Minister Narender Modi will open the 21.8-km Mumbai Trans-Harbor Link (MTHL), the country’s longest sea bridge, on January 12 as part of his day-long visit to Maharashtra. According to the statement, PM Modi will lay the groundwork, dedicate, and inaugurate projects valued at Rs 30,500 crore while in the country. One such bridge is the six-lane Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, which was constructed for Rs 17,480 crore.

The bridge, which is 16.5 km long over the sea and roughly 5.5 km long on land, will shorten the time it takes to get from Mumbai to Pune, Goa, and South India, as well as provide quicker access to Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport. Drivers will incur a one-way ticket costing Rs 250. On Friday, Prime Minister Modi will begin his tour of Maharashtra in Nashik, where he will officially open the 27th National Youth Festival. By 3:30 pm, he will arrive in Mumbai, where he will formally open the Atal Setu. After that, he will go to a public event in Navi Mumbai, where he will dedicate, open, and lay the cornerstone of several development projects valued at over Rs 12,700 crore.

Officials from the state government stated that approximately one lakh people, mostly women, are anticipated to attend public meetings. According to a representative at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office, it is part of his ambitious agenda, which he announced as soon as the women’s reservation bill was approved by the parliament two months ago. According to a PMO statement, PM Modi will lay the cover stone for an underground road tunnel that will link Marine Drive and the orange gate of the Eastern Freeway. The construction of the 9.2 km tunnel will set you back over Rs. 8700 crore. The Rs 75 crore Surya regional bulk drinking water project will have its first phase dedicated to him. In addition, he will commit Rs 2000 crore towards railway projects.

The PM will also introduce the Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan, an initiative aimed at empowering women in Maharashtra state through exposure to entrepreneurship development and skill development training. It will be carried out by Umed, a division of the Department of Women and Child Welfare, and aim to integrate women’s development initiatives from the federal and state governments. The officials opening of the first line of Metro during his visit, the twin tunnel between Borivali and Thane, the Mothagaon-Mankoli bridge, the Digha Gaon railway station, and the fourth railway corridor between Kharkopar and Uran are among the other projects scheduled for Friday’s inauguration.
