At the third Republican presidential debate, held on Wednesday (local time) in Miami, Republican candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy sparred with one another. Ramaswamy brought up Nikki Haley’s daughter’s use of the TikTok app because of concern that China was using it as a weapon for spying—Haley’s retaliatory “scum” term for Ramaswamy.
For example, Ramaswamy told NBC News, “She made fun of me for joining TikTok while her daughter was using the app for a long time.”

Haley cut them off, saying, “Leave my daughter out of your voice.” “The next generation of Americans are using it, and that’s the point,” Ramaswamy stated to cheers and applause from the crowd.
Haley essentially called them “scum.” In September, Ramaswamy said he had started utilizing the TikTok app, developed by the Chinese firm ByteDance, to reach out to young people. His decision to sign up for TikTok may be traced back to a dinner with the viral star Jake Paul.
While talking, Ramaswamy brought up the war between Israel and Hamas, urging Netanyahu that he should “smoke those terrorists on his southern border” and that he would “smoke the terrorists on our southern border,” as reported by CNN.
With regard to Haley’s foreign policy, Ramaswamy questioned, “Do you want a leader from a different generation who is going to put this country first, or do you want Dick Cheney in three-inch heels?” Two of them are here this evening.
Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida governor Ron DeSantis were Ramaswamy’s first targets. The Israeli issue and the two leading candidates were the context for his warning that the United States may be drawn into a war in Europe. Asking rhetorically whether people wanted “Dick Cheney in three-inch heels,” he seemed to insinuate that DeSantis may be wearing heel lifts. That’s why you got not one but two of them performing for you tonight: Haley and DeSantis.
In reaction to Ramaswamy’s statement, Haley remarked, “They’re five-inch heels, and I don’t wear them unless I can run in them.” They are not a fashion statement but a potentially deadly weapon.
The second thing I’d want to bring out is that I almost always wear heels, not only when I want to look good. As she continued to explain, “They are for ammunition.”
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott joined Haley, Ramaswamy, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump failed to appear at yet another primary.
TikTok became hot as the GOP presidential candidates argued over international affairs. Several individuals in the United States have urged making the app illegal.

Party frontrunner and former president Trump did not attend.
