Lucknow: After skipping the winter session of the state legislature, Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is slated to hold a brief budget session next month.
The budget proposal would be focussed on pro-people as it will be the last full budget of the government before the next Assembly polls.
The budget proposal for the financial year 2021-22 is likely to be brought in the mid of February and a proposal has been given to the government to table the budget in the assembly on February 18, official sources here on Wednesday said.
Sources said all the government departments have been asked to submit their proposal immediately , so that budget preparation can start.
Earlier opposition were up on their arms against the BJP government for not holding the winter session.
Sources said that the budget session could be a brief one and on the opening day, Governor Anandiben Patel will address the joint session as it will be the first sitting in the new year.
After 2 to 3 days debate on Thanks motion over the governor’s address, the budget would be brought and it will be passed in in week time.
This will be the last budget of the present Yogi government as Assembly elections in the state is slated in early 2022.
