Mamta slams Modi govts over Pegasus snooping; says ‘Khela Hobo’ on 16 Aug every year

The West Bengal Chief minister Mamta Banerjee slams Central government citing that all the impartial institutions have been slowly politicised by the BJP-led Government.

She was furious on the “Pegasus snoopgate issue as per the recently published media report which claimed that many journalists, opposition leaders and judges were spied by the govt through this Israeli software. She even further added, that this snooping is worse than the Watergate scandal of US under the regime of President Nixon. She gone one step ahead and said that it’s not even emergency but super emergency,”

She was lashing on BJP govt while addressing the virtual rally at Martyrs Day yesterday. Meanwhile, she today spoke to various media houses clarifying about the “Khela Hobo Diwas” scheduled on Aug 16.

Since BJP had blamed Mamta over the selection of date. Rajya Sabha leader and close to the party Swapan Das Gupta yesterday tweeted that Mamta Di has chosen 16 Aug for Khela Diwas since on Aug 16 Muslim League chosen direct action day in 1946 which has claimed many innocent lives across the country. He blamed TMC’s ideology is alike of league; who divided India in two parts just to appease a section of community.

Meanwhile, Mamata given a twist to her victory slogan of ‘Khela Hobe’, by declaring August 16 as Khel Divas in Bengal,” she added. Mamata Di said that the date of Aug 16 was chosen to observe ‘Khela Diwas’ or Sport Day as a mark of respect and homage to the sixteen football fans who lost their lives in a stampede in 1980 during a football match at Kolkata’s Eden Garden stadium.

Mamta Banerjee after convincibly beating BJP in West Bengal, is now eyeing Delhi. Mamta is ambitious that’s why she broke out of the Congress in July 21, 1988 to float her own party TMC and ousted left from Bengal.

Banerjee said that I want that all the opposition must come together without wasting time to oust BJP govt from Delhi. She further said, ‘that she was in Delhi next week and I would like to meet all the opposition leaders during the ongoing Parliament session between 26-28 of this month’.
